The Role
We are currently seeking a Senior Business Analyst to join our project team to contribute to both the formulation and delivery of the Renew Property & Rates System project. In this role you will be responsible for the on-going analysis, mapping and, where applicable, re-engineering the City's operational processes.
The Senior Business Analyst will connect technology and business by applying analytical methods to evaluate processes, define requirements, and provide recommendations for the Renew Property & Rates System project.
Working closely with the Project Manager Property & Rates and other key project stakeholders, the Senior Business Analyst will be responsible for, but not limited to:
- Coordinating, facilitating, and delivering workshops and interviews to derive requirements, data, and information for data dictionaries, service identification, process mapping, and procedures.
- Gathering, analysing, and documenting business, functional, data, and system requirements for the implementation of business solutions.
- Conducting efficient user and stakeholder analyses to build and maintain Use Cases on the expected functional behaviour of a future system state.
- Developing detailed data flow and Entity Relationship diagrams mapping the dependencies and transformation of data within and across systems.
- Mapping, analysing, and reviewing business processes, utilising process improvement methodologies, identifying alternative solutions, assessing feasibility, and recommending new approaches that align with business needs.
- Facilitating the development and management of user test cases for system integration and user acceptance testing, ensuring that test outcomes are appropriately documented, and issues managed.
- Providing advice and guidance to customers and stakeholders on function and technical issues and solutions.

- Advanced proficiency in business process modeling and requirements management tools, such as Microsoft Visio, JIRA, and Process Manager (Promapp).
- Skills in managing organisational change to ensure adoption of new systems and processes are highly beneficial.
