We currently have an exciting opportunity for Senior Category & Contracts Specialist at our Perth office on a permanent full-time basis.
About this role
This position is accountable for increasing value, by improving service, quality, compliance and safety outcomes whilst reducing risk and costs across Western Power portfolio of contracts. This includes category and contract management to maximise the value derived from the contracts and ongoing supplier relationship management.
This is achieved by adopting a category and contract management approach to contract management and supplier management including knowledge of the market, understanding the market forces, external and internal demand, supply and cost risks and influencing the market.
We are looking for an individual with broad and extensive knowledge in the ICT portfolio with expertise in developing and executing Category & contract strategies to generate value and demonstrated strong understanding of risk and compliance management and its application with respect to procurement.
Accountabilities of this role include:
- Responsible for category management, contract management, supplier performance, supplier relationships, price management to achieve the best commercial outcome for Western Power.
- Responsible for all contract negotiations with materials, services and goods supplier on behalf of the business to achieve the best commercial outcome for Western Power
- Responsible for ensuring that the contract management framework is applied consistently and effectively, relevant to their portfolio and stakeholders.
- Responsible for the strategic and commercial category and contract management of all services, materials and goods contracts. The responsibility for the delivery of works in accordance with the contract is out of scope.
- Responsible for executing a pipeline of costs saving opportunities relevant to the portfolio of contracts.
- Responsible for data management of category and contract related performance, e-procurement tools and systems
- Responsible for identifying opportunities for cost savings, process efficiencies and business improvements for the Supply Chain area.
- Responsible for leading and supporting commerciality and governance for contracts within Western Power and external suppliers (including spend management, uncontracted spend, compliance to policies and guidelines)
- Manage legal documents and contracts as per ENTM 4.2
- Contribute to and support the forecasting of supply capability, demand of services, goods and materials for Western Power
- Contribute to and support the development of a supply chain strategy, relevant to their portfolio and stakeholders.
- Contribute to and support planning, budgeting and reporting processes, relevant to their portfolio and stakeholders.
About you
We are seeking someone with experience and attributes that include:
- Degree qualified in Procurement, Contract, Business, Finance and/or related discipline and/or suitable demonstrated experience.
- Demonstrated experience in establishing and managing supplier relationships to generate value beyond the contract.
- Strong conceptual and analytical skills.
- Strong influencing, communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated strong financial skills to review and assess financial & pricing models.
- Demonstrated strong negotiation skills on high value transactions. Demonstrated strong category management skills.
- Demonstrated strong contract management skills.
- Demonstrated customer and results focus.
- Knowledge and experience in Contract Law, Construction Law, Australian Consumer Law and related legislation and regulations
- Good understanding of Australian Standard suite of contracts (including construction and supply, delivery and installation of equipment of goods) and general services type agreements.
