Senior/ Principal Clinical Psychologist
JOB SUMMARY
The Senior/ Principal Clinical Psychologist is responsible for conducting psychological assessments, developing individualized treatment plans, and providing evidence-based therapy to clients dealing with a wide range of mental health issues. This role demands a professional who is committed to staying informed about the latest research in the field and is passionate about making a positive impact in the lives of others. The Clinical Psychologist will require to work autonomously and independent in their duties.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
· Conduct therapeutic sessions to clients utilizing evidence-based interventions.
· Create personalized treatment plans for clients, drawing on previous experience and research skills.
· Skilled in providing therapy to clients with Workers' Compensation Claims (WCC) and Compulsory Third Party (CTP) claims.
· Proficient in assisting clients with ASD and ADHD, and Intellectual Disabilities.
· Experienced in serving clients under the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS).
· Perform evaluations and generate review reports for NDIS clients.
· Conduct psychological assessments for adults and children to help address variety of clinical concerns. Assessment includes but not limited to ADIR, ADOS, CARS, Vineland 3, WISC-V, WIAT-3, WAIS-IV etc.
· Demonstrate cultural awareness and engage effectively with clients from diverse ethnic backgrounds.
· Accurately complete electronic client notes and reports for sessions, adhering to the standards set by the APS Code of Ethics.
· Prepare for and participate in weekly clinical supervision sessions, following AHPRA guidelines.
· Engage in professional development activities in line with AHPRA registration requirements.
· Address requests for subpoenas or court appearances concerning referred clients.
· Tasked with the composition of psychological and forensic reports.
· Contribute to case conferences for clients, aiding in the facilitation of services.
Education
Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (Ph.D. or Psy.D.)
Essential Criteria
General Registration with the Psychology Board of Australia, and clinical endorsement with the Psychology Board of Australia
Board-approved supervisor preferred
Member of Australia Psychological Society (APS)
Fellow of APS College of Clinical Psychologist
SIRA Approved
Language
Mandarin, Cantonese, English
Knowledge
Knowledge of evidence based interventions, research, legal and ethical requirements, clinical skills, and referral sources.
Skills
Demonstrated high level of verbal and written communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, well defined research and analytical skills. Strong problem solving skills, clinical skills based on experience, IT and social networking skills.
Other
Experience using Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
Experience using electronic filing and medical software
Experience working with or a willingness to provide therapy to a range of client presentations.
Must be flexible and able to take managerial direction as required.
Willingness to engage in a team-based environment.
