Who we are looking for
The Senior Cloud & Infrastructure Architect plays a pivotal role in shaping the technological landscape for the Australian Parliament by designing and implementing advanced cloud solutions and Infrastructure frameworks.
The successful candidate will utilise expert knowledge across a range of technical ICT disciplines [including but not limited to, Microsoft Azure services, Microsoft 365, infrastructure, networks, cyber security, identity (including Azure AD)] to develop and maintain a scalable, reliable, cost optimised and secure computing environment that aligns with the digital objectives of the Australian Parliament and supports future growth. Additionally, this role is responsible for leading core infrastructure (including cloud service) maturity including migration and transformation of existing on-premise services to cloud equivalents.

Job Specific Requirements:
- The successful applicant will be required to obtain and maintain a Negative Vetting 1 (Confidential/Highly Protected/Secret) security clearance.
- Extensive knowledge, skills and advanced professional expertise acquired through significant technical ICT experience working in a multi-disciplinary ICT environment.
- Experience deploying and operating on a public cloud framework.
- Experience with cloud deployment, technical and security architecture, database architecture, IP networking, Agile development, technical solution architecture, Windows Azure.
Duty Statement

Section: Cloud Initiatives
Immediate supervisor: Chief Information Officer
Under limited/general direction undertake duties in accordance with the agreed standards for the Parliamentary Executive Level 2 classification. The duties will include, but are not limited to, the following:
1. Design, develop and implement enterprise-scale Cloud and ICT infrastructure solutions, ensuring they align with the digital goals for the Australian Parliament and comply with industry best practice.
2. Evaluate, compare and implement emerging technologies, tools and services to make informed recommendations, driving innovation, efficiency and sustainability in the Cloud and ICT infrastructure landscape.
3. Analyse and forecast resource needs, overseeing capacity planning to ensure scalable and cost-effective infrastructure solutions that can accommodate current and future requirements.
4. Lead efforts to design and implement robust cyber security controls, environment designs and solutions ensuring the confidentiality, integrity and availability of data within the Cloud and core infrastructure environment, staying abreast of security trends and threats.
5. Provide senior technical leadership across all technical domains within the parliamentary ICT environments, including with in situations with business-led ICT. Foster a culture of collaboration and knowledge-sharing while mentoring junior team members.

Conditions of Employment
Employment opportunities at Department of Parliamentary Services are subject to a range of conditions prescribed in the Parliamentary Service Act 1999 which include:
- Australian citizenship - to be eligible for employment with DPS, applicants must be an Australian Citizen.
- Security clearance and character clearance - the preferred applicant will be required to obtain and maintain a security clearance at the level specified, as well as complete and be deemed suitable through a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check.
- Health assessment - a pre-employment health assessment will be required where there are physical or medical requirements for the role.
