Let’s introduce ourselves
We’re a venture-scaler powered by CommBank. That means we build, buy, and invest in startups that could benefit the bank’s 15 million customers and beyond.
Because of what we do, we’re really neither corporate, nor startup – instead we’re happily navigating the space between both worlds. We're close enough to benefit from the bank’s strategy, scale, and stability, but separate enough that we have the autonomy to try new things.
The Role

You will be primarily responsible for onboarding a new venture and integrating them into our service management, incident management and asset management products. You will also contribute to our AWS and Azure platform stacks and other technical tooling.
As a senior member of the team, you should be comfortable collaborating and giving advice that allows our ventures to operate safely at speed within a regulated environment. Where needed you should be able to work with application code and modern application frameworks.
What you'll to day-to-day
Coordinate the onboarding steps required and partner with the Venture to ensure a great partnership is established.
Analyse business objectives and translate requirements to technical implementation components.
Provide accurate estimates for the development effort for new features.
Provide mentoring and technical assistance to other members of the team.
Apply and promote industry best patterns and practices.
Contribute to the strategic engineering goals within own team and platform.
Lead Level 3 or above support and technical troubleshooting activity.
Let's talk about the skills we're after
At least 5 years' hand on experience with deploying and running applications on AWS. Azure experience is a plus.
Strong experience with infrastructure-as-code (IAC): either CDK or Terraform.
Strong experience with containerization.
Monitor system performance and log data; generate various reports and alerts, as necessary.
Understanding of networking and security architecture.
Expertise in CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, or Travis CI
Strong skills and experience in at least one modern programming language preferably JavaScript/Typescript, and experience with modern application frameworks such as Node + Express, Nextjs etc.
