Work Location: Perth. Fortescue's Perth office is located on the traditional lands of the Whadjuk people.
Roster: Monday - Friday
The Senior Commercial Accountant will play a crucial role in supporting the organisations accounting and commercial activities for Fortescue's international subsidiaries. The role will require an understanding of cost and management accounting, ideally with experience supporting mining operations internationally. The successful candidate will be detail orientated, with a strong understanding of cost allocation, reconciliation, and reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparation of month end management accounts, including journal postings, cost analysis and balance sheet reconciliation.
- Work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure accurate cost capture and allocation.
- Support the preparation of operating budgets, monthly rolling forecasts and provide variance analysis and monthly management reporting.
- Coordinate the cross board inter entity invoicing process.
- Drive the establishment of both departmental and consolidated reporting across financial and non-financial metrics.
- Provide training and support in the use of the company ERP system, polices and guidelines.
- Assist the team with any ongoing projects as required.
Qualifications and Experience
- CA/CPA qualification.
- Experience with SAP is preferred but not essential.
- Mining operations experience is highly desirable.
- Cost and management accounting experience desirable.
- International experience is preferable.
- Extensive experience with budgeting, forecasting, and monthly management reporting.
- Strong interpersonal skills, and experience working with internal, external, and senior management stakeholders.
- Bilingual in English and French, highly desirable.
