About the role
The Senior Commercial Analyst is responsible for this position, within the Future Fuels team, is responsible commercial & financial analysis and economic modelling to support Origin’s investment and development decisions in low carbon fuels including hydrogen.
Why this role matters?
- Develop economic models and deep dive analytical models for assets, value chains and transactions for future fuels opportunities including hydrogen
- Work with multiple teams to define problems, source information and develop analysis & commercial insights to inform investment decisions, project concept designs and overall commercialisation of opportunities
- Prepare business cases, presentations, and briefing papers for internal and external audiences
- Continuously improve financial models and incorporate changes required by regulatory, technology and governance developments
- Support financial modelling assurance, review and governance activities across Origin as required
- Collaborate with fellow SMEs across Origin to share and incorporate learnings and facilitate consistency in approaches
What will you bring?
- Strong commercial acumen and economic modelling expertise
- Ability to comprehend complex energy assets and value chains from a physical perspective
- Great problem solving skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with commercial, engineering, corporate function and senior management stakeholders
- At least 3 years financial modelling with an understanding of valuation concepts and preferably accounting, project finance and tax
- Experience in energy, utilities, industrial or infrastructure
- Experience in asset development, M&A transactions and joint ventures an advantage
- Strong communication abilities (reports, briefs, presentations and investment proposals)
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent activities
