Senior Commercial Manager

Based in either Canberra or Adelaide, we are looking for a Senior Commercial Manager to provide informed and timely commercial and contractual expertise to support our Australian operations.

Main Tasks
• Working closely with our parent company based in Norway, provide management and administration of contracts in accordance with company procedures including support on contractual matters and resolution of commercial issues.
• Assess, review and advise contractor claims for variations, extensions and other commercial matters.
• Manage the Intellectual Property regime for multiple projects.
• Develop and process contract change proposals and amendments.
• Identify and mitigate contractual/commercial risks.
• Provide planning and support for contract negotiations. 
• Manage formal commercial communication with our Customers.
• Review draft contracts, tenders and agreements for compliance with KONGSBERG policies.

Required Qualifications and Experience
• Bachelor’s Degree in Law.
• Strong commercial skills and business acumen with demonstrated experience in contract negotiation, interpretation, and management, preferably within Defence industry.
• Experience and applied understanding of the ASDEFCON suite of contract templates.
• Understanding of intellectual property management regimes and their application.
• Experience in contract reviews and negotiations including the ability to adjust contractual wording to minimise company Risk.
• Develop and maintain relationships with subcontractors, negotiating contracts to optimise value.
• Experience in complex stakeholder management.
• Must be eligible to obtain and maintain an Australian security clearance.
• Must be eligible to access information controlled under the US International Traffic of Arms Regulations (ITAR)

Desirable but not essential
• Master’s Degree in Law. 
• Understanding of supply chain operations and management.
