About the Role:
We currently have an opportunity for a Senior Commercial Manager to join our business and play a pivotal part in ensuring the success and strategic growth of our organisation.
The purpose of this position is to effectively support the commercial risk profile of the business through the establishment and monitoring of commercial business processes, and to provide strong commercial outcomes and leadership across Pre-Contracts and Business execution. The role covers a national remit, across DRA’s large range of engineering projects in Australia and the wider APAC region, supporting engineering operations to assess and manage risks and opportunities on DRA’s local and international projects, assist in the recruitment of high quality project based commercial / contract administration resources, and to provide support to the APAC MANCO as Head of Function
Key duties:
- Review, Establish and Govern Commercial Business processes in line with the commercial risk profile of the business and corporate standards
- Execute the commercial requirements within Pre-Contracts, including Strategy Development and Contact Negotiations, and rights and obligations handovers to new project teams
- Establish effective interactions with APAC MANCO, Engineering Operations and the DRA Corporate Legal Team
- Liaise closely with Engineering Leadership and Project Teams to understand project status, provide specialist advice on commercial matters and support any emerging or active issue resolutions
- Advise and assist in the recruitment of high-quality project based commercial / contract administration resources, and hold a functional reporting line for those roles
You will have:
- Tertiary qualified in Commercial, Business, Law, Engineering, or similar
- 7 + years in a comparable commercial role in engineering, EPCM, EPC or similar
- A natural relationship-builder and communicator, you can engage, influence and collaborate effectively and tactfully in challenging circumstances
- Strong commercial awareness and ability to be the primary point of contact for all commercial and contractual matters; including ongoing liaison with client representatives, contractors, and vendors
- Proven ability to produce strategies in risk mitigation and management, contract establishment, contract management and disputes resolution
- An understanding of vertically integrated contracting models e.g., EPCM, EPC, E
- An understanding of project accounting reporting requirements and variance analysis
- Advanced MS Office suite skills
