We are seeking an experienced Senior Communication & Media Officer to join the Residential Tenancies Authority (RTA). In this role, you will plan, write and continuously improve internal and external content, media and engagement campaigns that aim to educate and serve the one-third of Queensland households that rent.
Operating within a customer-focused, corporate environment that values your professional judgement and contributions, you will be part of a multidisciplinary team that partners with all areas of the RTA to provide strategic and practical Communication and engagement advice, identifying and responding quickly and effectively to planned, emerging and urgent opportunities and issues.
This position is a permanent, full-time role and is located in the Brisbane CBD.
The Senior Communication & Media Officer will work collaboratively within a busy, small team to plan and deliver comprehensive and integrated internal and external communication activities, which engage, inform and educate RTA customers and the Queensland rental sector. This role works with a range of internal and external stakeholders to translate complex legislative information and develops content for diverse audiences across the RTA's communication channels. This position also monitors and reports on media issues and opportunities, manages media enquiries, and produces targeted and shareable digital content, while building and maintaining strong stakeholder relationships.
This is a fast-paced and externally-facing role where you will leverage your strategic thinking, professional judgement and attention to detail to deliver improved Communication and engagement for our people, customers and stakeholders. You will work in a collaborative multidisciplinary team, build trusted relationships, and deliver quality work and outcomes that promote the RTA's services, reach and reputation. To be successful you will need:
- Experience in planning, writing and delivering effective and purposeful content and communication campaigns
- An eye for detail and experience in responding to reactive media requests and pitching proactive media opportunities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and an adaptive, collaborative working style, with the ability to work and execute quickly
- Adapt flexibly to changing priorities, be open to giving and receiving feedback and work effectively in a fast-paced team environment to manage multiple tasks and write quality content within strict deadlines
- Demonstrated experience working within a fast-paced corporate communications, media or public relations team is essential
