Short Term contract for a Local council!
Our client has a couple of exciting projects coming and would need for a communications specialist to cover these projects!
Your new company
This position works within the Communications team to assist in the development and implementation of operational marketing and communication services to enhance, protect and promote the brand, reputation, products and services of the City.
Your new role
- Develop, implement and evaluate marketing and communication plans.
- Create content for social media, website, enews, intranet and other communication channels.
- Liaise with media and coordinate media releases and enquiries
- Organise graphic design, advertising and promotional materials.
- Provide videography/photography services and social media support.
- Assist the Marketing and Communications team to implement internal and external marketing and communications projects.
- Ensure all marketing collateral and communications comply with the City's style guide.
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders in relation to marketing and communications.
- Develop, maintain and review systems, policies and procedures, monitor workflows and conduct evaluations to ensure continuous improvement of the City's Business Management System.
- Follow guidelines on expenditure within budget constraints and use resources in a responsible and efficient manner.
- Work proactively within the organisation to promote, support and adhere to a holistic Safety, Health, Environment & Quality culture and associated policies and procedures.
- Demonstrate behaviours that reflect the organisations values and supports cross functional teams and meets customer and organisational needs.
- Required to comply with all relevant environmental legislation, regulations and standards.
- Assist with the implementation of Quality Assurance Principles including identifying improvements.
- May be expected to participate in Continuous Improvement Teams and Audit team.
- Undertake other tasks as requested within scope and level of position.
- Act as Senior Communications Officer as required.
What you'll need to succeed
- Experience in developing and implementing marketing and communications plans and strategies.
- Experience in public relations, media, marketing and advertising.
- Experience of digital marketing, websites and social media.
- Experience in writing content for various audiences and channels.
- Demonstrated experience in videography, editing and photography.
- Experience in assisting the development and review of policies, procedures and work instructions.
- Experience in the use of Microsoft Office and Adobe products.
- Knowledge of graphic design and print production practices.
Essential: Progression towards a tertiary qualification in marketing, communications, public relations or equivalent demonstrated experience
Desirable: Tertiary qualification in marketing, communications, public relations
