An exciting opportunity to develop and implement marketing and communications to support projects for the community.

  • Permanent Full time
  • Salary from $105,329 to $111,526 per annum, plus superannuation
  • Exciting opportunity to work in a large and fast-growing Local Government Area, developing and implementing communications to support new and ongoing projects and initiatives.

About the position

Working within the Communications and Brand team, this busy role works closely with internal and external stakeholders to deliver communications to promote and celebrate the City's programs, projects and events.

This position provides communications and marketing solutions and advice tailored to business needs and builds and maintains effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders to deliver high quality content for a range of channels including publications, web and social copy, speeches and marketing campaigns.

  • Advise internal stakeholders on best practise communications solutions aligned with the City's strategic goals and objectives.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to develop and implement communications plans on a range of topics to engage diverse audiences.
  • Act as a central point of contact for internal stakeholders, providing communications advice and support.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to ensure communications are delivered on time and to a high standard.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of communications plans and activities to inform current and future plans, and report on emerging trends and risks.
  • Balance competing priorities to manage development and delivery of a range of communications plans.

About you

You are a driven and passionate team player who can quickly build relationships with a range of customers and stakeholders.

You enjoy taking the lead on your projects and can work independently. You can identify communications priorities to help achieve organisational objectives. You are an out of the box thinker with creative flair. Someone who can synthesise complex information into clear messages. A strong communicator who works well with your teammates within the organisation to achieve shared goals.

You will be able to demonstrate through your resume and covering letter that you meet the following capabilities:

  • University degree in relevant discipline;
  • Relevant experience in a similar communications role with the ability to create and implement effective promotional campaigns;
  • Effective relationship and stakeholder management skills;
  • Excellent negotiation and problem-solving skills; and
  • Knowledge of brand stewardship.
