So, what’s the role?
Supporting the Head of Enterprise Risk, Compliance and Sustainability you will deliver an effective and contemporary compliance framework, in line with the Bank First enterprise risk framework.
The role encompasses all regulatory and compliance obligations applicable, including licensee obligations (AFSL and ACL), Anti Money Laundering/Counter Terrorist Financing, Privacy, APRA Prudential Standards and the Community Owned Banking Code of Practice requirements. The role is also a key component of second line accountability in managing the compliance program for Bank First.
In this leadership role you will work collaboratively across the business and one direct report, a Senior Compliance Advisor, who will undertake core compliance activities as well as support the risk and compliance transformation program.
This role is based at the head office in Hawthorn East. We also offer hybrid working.
Key accountabilities for the role:
- Enhancing and implementing the compliance framework and associated transformation program. This includes the delivery of:
- an effective compliance obligations management system and program;
- a risk-based and relevant assurance program;
- an appropriate training and communications program;
- effective attestation process;
- robust breach identification and reporting procedures and practice; and
- compliance policies, standards and procedures to embed the framework.
- Providing timely and risk-based compliance advice to the business
- Provide support to the Regulatory Affairs function as required.
- Providing insightful and impactful reporting to contribute to the CRO and team reporting to Executive Management and Board on compliance matters.
The ideal, Tertiary qualified candidate will have the following experience:
- Significant experience in compliance management leadership roles within a financial services environment.
- Strong understanding and knowledge of applicable legislative and regulatory environment & current compliance procedures and practices.
- Outcomes focused leader with strong people leadership skills, an ability to develop a high performing team, work collaboratively with peers and influence change.
- Demonstrated ability to work on unstructured tasks, be inquisitive, and respectfully challenge to drive commercial solutions.
- Strong interpersonal skills including a high level of negotiation and influencing skills.
- Tier 2 qualifications in Financial Services (Desirable)
