The Operational Risk & Compliance team sits within Institutional Risk and helps the ANZ Institutional division to consistently and effectively measure, manage, report, oversight and govern Institutional Compliance & Operational Risk.

The Senior Manager for Compliance & Capability - Resilience, Technology & Data is critical to making this happen and will strategically develop and implement pathways that align with our evolving focus on regulatory preparedness, and team capability development in the face of complex banking regulations, operational resilience standards, global AI regulations, and third-party risk management.
This role would suit a values-driven individual who would like to join a team of people well-versed in Technology and emerging risk.
What will your day look like
- Lead the strategic development and implementation of pathways to enhance the wider IB risk and compliance team's capabilities in operational resilience, technology, and Data-related risk domains.
- Collaborate with regional and international stakeholders to ensure effective training programs and compliance guidance cover diverse geographies and regulatory frameworks related to these domains.
- Develop key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to track and measure the effectiveness of Technology and Data capability uplift initiatives, as well as improvements in operational risk and compliance efforts.
- Actively monitor and analyze regulatory developments and industry trends within the Technology and Data domains, collaborating closely with other regulatory and compliance teams within the division to translate insights into strategic recommendations for senior management.
- Serve as a subject matter expert and trusted advisor on Technology and Data-related compliance matters, providing guidance and support to business stakeholders across the division, including countries
What will you bring?
- 8+ years' experience in technology risk, operational risk, and compliance, with a focus on cloud computing, artificial intelligence, and emerging risks.
- Proficiency in integrated risk management across technology, data, cybersecurity, and emerging risk dimensions, showcasing a holistic understanding of risk interdependencies and their potential impact on other business risks.
- A solid grasp of the international regulatory landscape in emerging areas of Technology and Data, such as digital asset rules and the usage of Generative AI.
- Experience in preparing for and responding to regulatory scrutiny and on-site inspections in technology, data, and cloud operations.
- Ability to effectively communicate complex regulatory requirements and risk mitigants to various stakeholders, including senior management, business units, and compliance teams.
- Completion of specialized courses or certifications in cloud computing, AI/Machine learning, and Digital Assets is desirable.
