Strategic role for experienced communications professional
As a highly accomplished communications professional your proven track record in delivering strategic communications and integrated marketing campaigns speaks for itself.
In this role as Senior Consultant, Campaigns and Project you will deliver communication strategies and campaigns, including design, development, analysis, and evaluation. You will work collaboratively across the Communications directorate to deliver cross-functional projects.
You will undertake complex research and provide recommendations to support the development of innovative, evidence based communication projects/programs and outcomes. You will be required to analyse and review complex issues, identify emerging trends, develop and implement evidence-based solutions, mitigate risks and evaluate performance to ensure continuous improvement.
Your varied portfolio of projects will involve writing communications for a range of purposes and audiences, and a strength will be your substantial experience working with different clients to craft compelling and engaging communications.
A key responsibility will include maintaining awareness and understanding of emerging trends and issues and ensuring effective sharing of information and skills, supporting collaboration, communication and connection across the team and directorate.

The Campaigns and Projects team are the campaign strategists, and creative and implementation experts. The team provide high-level corporate communications, public relations and marketing strategies and services for the Department, including:
- planning and delivering communication projects, products, campaigns, and events
- brand management
- product, campaign and events policy and advice
- high-level public relations and marketing advice to schools
- research of best practice to influence behaviour change.

Job Specific
- Demonstrated experience in communications, including formulation, implementation, and evaluation of communications projects and programs, including analysis and reporting on performance.
- Highly developed writing skills.
- Experience managing large or complex projects, or components of larger projects, including the ability to manage performance to deliver agreed outcomes within specified timeframes.
- Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build and maintain stakeholder relationships in a dynamic environment.
- Highly developed research, analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to develop innovative solutions to complex problems aligned to strategic direction.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively, mentor and develop others.

Eligibility and Training Requirements
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement
- complete the Department’s training in Accountable and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment and every three years thereafter.
- complete the Department’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural awareness online course within 3 months of commencement
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy
- consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education’s Screening Unit prior to commencement of employment
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check if required
