This ground-breaking $5 billion Public-Private Partnership (PPP) project represents a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to contribute to the development of Greater Western Sydney. To enhance our team for this pivotal project, we seek a highly skilled Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our Claims team. Reporting to the Commercial Claims Manager, you will facilitate communication between Project Co and the Client.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the compilation of the project’s monthly payment claims, including forecasts.
- Assist with the certification of monthly Subcontractor applications for payments where required.
- Provide quantity surveying in support of contractual claims, variations, and final accounts.
- Ensure the effective administration of subcontracts where required, including the assessment of variations and claims.
- Provide reasoned QS advice on the strength of our position for matters in dispute and advise on resolution and recovery strategies.
- Compile evidence and quantifications for a dispute resolution process for both prosecution and defense of claims (upstream and downstream).
- Conduct commercial evaluation of tenders from subcontractors and appraise bids by liaising with Project Managers and Engineers to assess bids.
- Provide take-off quantities from Construction Drawings.
About you:
- Recognized tertiary qualifications within a relevant field (B.Sc. Quantity Surveying or equivalent)
- Minimum 10 years’ experience working in the Construction Industry in a similar role
- Experience working on large-scale construction projects.
- Experience in claims/variations
- Experience in SAP Software/accounting and associated reporting is desirable
- Key collaborative skills
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
