Who will you be working with? Reporting to the Digital Solutions Program Management.

Where is the position located? This is full time position at our office in Eagle Farm, Brisbane. Travel from time to time may be required to interstate or Customer offices between Brisbane and Adelaide

Duties and Responsibilities  

  • The Contract Manager will prepare and negotiate various contract documents such as change requests, schedules and registers, subcontracts, re-sale agreements and contract amendments.     
  • The Contract Manager will participate in project related meetings as required and will monitor and report on contract status, including contract changes. 
  •  The Contract Manager will support and assist in the resolution of claims and disputes. 
  • The Contract Manager will consult and work closely with the WCS’s Legal Counsel and other members of the legal and Commercial team. 
  •  The Contract Manager may also be required to review and assist in the preparation and negotiation of commercial contracts with customers, including with respect to Statements of Work and Pricing Schedules. The Contracts manager will work collaboratively with commercial bid teams, including Sales and Commercial Operations Leads and take instruction from Snr Director, Legal Counsel.
  • Responsible for contract management with respect to all major contracts or subcontracts within the remit of WCS in Australia. 
  • Review and assist in the preparation and finalization of change requests, change authorizations, non-disclosure agreements, requests for proposal submissions, subcontracts, pre-sale agreements and other contract related documentation arising during customer contract performance. 
  • Provide guidance and training to the business and project execution teams on contract administration.
  • Provide support and guidance in relation to the management and resolution of claims and disputes.
  • Providing contract management guidance to a cross functional team including Engineers, and Program and Project Managers.
  • Proactively seek to identify, assess and manage risk during the performance of customer contracts and subcontracts, including by exploring and recommending risk management strategies. 
  • As required, participate in the preparation, review and negotiation of customer contracts. 
  • Learn and understand the contracting practices and policies of the business and contribute to lessons learned and constant improvement.
  • Be capable of working productively and effectively without oversight.
  • Exercise sound judgment including by providing updates and seeking input from relevant business stakeholders.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor's Degree; with preference for a bachelor’s degree in law, Legal Studies, Commerce, Project Management, Software, or STEM Major (science, technology, engineering, math) from an accredited university or college
  • Minimum 5-7 years of experience in a contract management or legal role in a project management environment
  • Demonstrated high standard of communications skills, in written and verbal forms.  This includes preparing written correspondence on complex matters, and delivery of verbal briefings to stakeholders.Demonstrated negotiation skills, to be used in resolution of disputes, and agreement of contractual terms with suppliers and clients.
