About the role
The Senior Coordinator, Peer Support is responsible for the state-wide coordination and implementation of Peer Support programs, identifying peer and program needs, supporting the development and evaluation of programs and managing volunteers.
This role is a Permanent Full-time role of 37.5 hours/week based in the Brisbane office.
About you
To be successful in this role you will be an experienced and sensitive professional who is self-motivated and highly organised, with well-developed communication skills and a strong commitment to providing cancer specific Peer Supports.
Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge and Skills
Essential Skills:
- Qualifications in nursing, allied health, community services or a related field with relevant experience
- An understanding of the impact that the diagnosis and treatment of cancer has on individuals, their partners, and families
- Experience in working closely with people and communities affected by cancer
- Experience in coordinating and reviewing community programs
- Experience in program development, including the ability to identifying future individual and program needs, undertake consultations, design programs and evaluate these
- Experience in volunteer management, including recruitment, training, coordination, recognition, and support
- Experience developing, facilitating, and reviewing training programs
- Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to liaise effectively with people from diverse backgrounds and build and maintain relationships and networks
- Proven ability to work independently and as a member of a team
- Ability to organise, manage and prioritise multiple tasks
- Ability to use sound judgement and manage workloads with tight deadlines
- Demonstrated experience in the application and use of Microsoft office suite
- Current Qld Drivers Licence
- Experience developing, facilitating and reviewing support groups
