About This Opportunity  

UQ's International Development (ID) unit seeking a Senior Development Coordinator to with extensive experience in project support and unit administration. This role will require exceptional ability and skills to manage the resources and support for multiple development projects being implemented for a diverse range of clients. 

This role will directly support Senior Manager (Project Delivery and Support) and work collaboratively with the Senior Development Managers within the Project Delivery and Business Development & Engagement Functions of International Development. This role is also to support ID leadership in the management of projects, programs and resource allocations for the unit’s international development training and capacity building activities. This includes developing and implementing strong a strong policy and procedures framework, maintaining institutional knowledge and connections and providing leadership to team members to achieve efficient service delivery.

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Oversee all operational matters for the team and for projects, including administration of recruitment, on-boarding and exiting of project and team personnel, processing one-time payments for project personnel in Workday and allocation of staff to projects and activities.

  • Assist the Senior Manager (Project Delivery& Support) with respect to long term projects including reviewing reports and supporting project coordination requirements.

  • Develop, implement, and maintain policies & procedures and ensure quality assurance protocols are met.

  • Regularly review and enhance the efficiency of existing organisational processes and procedures to enhance the unit’s internal capacity and commercial responsiveness to clients.

  • Maintain close, effective working relationships across key parts of the University including HR, Finance, Governance & Risk, ITS, Legal and others.

  • Oversee data management for unit activities and provision readily available data sets and information.

  • Ensure IT and other assets are maintained and optimal for business purposes.

  • Oversee organisational governance arrangements and internal reporting requirements.

There are Two (2) Full-time, Fixed-term positions up to 3 years, At HEW Level 7, the full-time equivalent base salary will be in the range $96,649.64 - $105,244.58 plus super of up to 17%. The total FTE package will be in the range $113,080.08 – $123,136.16 per annum. 

About You
  • An undergraduate degree and at least four (4) years’ experience in project management/administration for international development, adult education, or other relevant programs; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education.

  • Significant knowledge of development practice, project monitoring and evaluation and administration systems to support project delivery.

  • Demonstrated skills in effective project management and team leadership including proven ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects/activities concurrently and to appropriately resource activities.

  • Experience in developing systems and policies that result in increased efficiency, consistency, and effectiveness across multiple projects and that deliver quality results to internal and external stakeholders.

  • Proven ability to work in a multicultural and diverse team environment and in the use of diplomacy and tact to work across such environments.

  • Ability to represent ID effectively and professionally to a broad range of clients and stakeholders.

  • High-level interpersonal and communication skills including a demonstrated ability to draft successful tender submissions, project reports, and media releases.

  • Demonstrated experience using MS Office particularly Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint plus expertise in other operating systems such as those that operate within the University or corporate sectors.

  • Demonstrated experience managing project budgets, quality assurance and compliance reporting functions.
