About the Role:
We are seeking a Senior Corporate Counsel for a 12-month Maternity Leave Cover. The ideal candidate should have excellent communication and negotiation skills, be a team player who can work both independently and collaboratively, and possess strong organizational and time management abilities. They must be a self-starter with a positive, adaptable attitude and a willingness to learn.
Reporting to the General Counsel, you will be directly responsible for managing legal matters and tasks for ANL and CMA CGM subsidiary companies in Oceania, including:
- Managing designated and/or tasked legal claims, corporate and compliance requirements.
- Overseeing corporate governance and reporting requirements.
- Providing quality, timely solution-based legal advice to the General Counsel and middle / senior managers to support Group shipping, logistics operations and agency functions.
- Offering legal advice and support to other CMA CGM Group legal teams onissues involving Oceania.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Possession of tertiary qualification in law from a recognised tertiary institution.
- Hold a current Australian Practicing Certificate.
- At least 6 years post qualification experience ("PQE") either in private practice or an established in-house legal department preferably within a national or multinational company.
- Experience in corporate and commercial litigation, arbitration, mediation and conciliation.
- Knowledge and understanding in relevant areas of law, such as corporate, competition and privacy laws.
- Experience working on complex legal matters within a fast-paced commercial environment.
Candidates must have full working rights in Australia for the entire duration of the contract to be considered eligible for this role.
