ABOUT THE ROLE
This is a generalist role where you will partner with the business and ensure the protection of BAI’s interests in its commercial relationships with customers, suppliers and business partners; enhance the value of BAI’s assets; and support business initiatives and success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the bid and sales teams to evaluate and respond to RFPs and win new business;
- Draft, review, advise on and negotiate customer contracts, including for the provision of telecommunications services, broadcast transmission services, operation and maintenance services and licences for co-location at BAI sites, with customers including TV and radio broadcasters, government entities, mobile network operators and venue operators;
- Draft, review, advise on and negotiate supplier, finance and property contracts;
- Provide regulatory advice on legislation relevant to BAI including the Telecommunications Act and carrier licence conditions, Radiocommunications Act, Security of Critical Infrastructure Act and Competition and Consumer Act;
- Draft or input into regulatory and policy submissions relevant to BAI’s interests;
- Assist the Company to meet emerging corporate governance expectations including on Modern Slavery, Anti-corruption and ESG requirements;
- Assist the General Counsel in their role as Company Secretary to advise on Corporations Act compliance, lending covenants and related governance issues;
- Advise across the business, namely Sales, People and Culture, Property, HSE.
ABOUT YOU
- Experience in telecommunications, technology or media contracts is required, and experience with telco regulatory issues is preferred
- Exposure to property, commercial and corporate legal work highly regarded
- You will be confident in contract drafting and negotiation
- 7+ years relevant experience
- Appropriate tertiary qualifications in Law
- Holder of a current practicing certificate or eligible to obtain one
- Experience as a solicitor commensurate with the requirements of the role
