The Role

The Governance, Integrity, and Reform Division (GIR) is responsible for developing the Department’s capability by improving its outward focus, strengthening its people and enhancing systems and processes. GIR combines the Department’s audit, risk, legal, integrity investigations and portfolio management functions.

The Professional Standards directorate (PS) within GIR has a renewed focus on embedding a stronger culture of integrity and risk across the Department.

The Senior Corruption Prevention and Education Officer will work closely with the Principal Corruption Prevention and Education officer to coordinate a comprehensive program to research, design and deliver corruption prevention strategies as well as to design and deliver educational programs that promote accountability at all levels within the workforce. The position supports the review of policy and procedures relating to integrity and accountability. As a subject matter expert, the position holder provides expertise and guidance on integrity related issues and standards.

The Opportunity

As a Senior Corruption Prevention and Education Officer your responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Translating the Integrity Framework into engaging educational material for a diverse group of audiences at varying levels across the Department
  • Delivering educational programs and facilitating education and awareness sessions to a diverse group of audiences
  • Providing evidence based reports and recommendations arising from matters relating to integrity risk, including control strategies
  • Operating within the Departments Corporate Governance Framework, policies and procedures and ensuring effective transparency and accountability of all Department activity
  • Working to improve communication and model integrity and respect in all interactions
  • Representing the Departments interest on committees and working groups as required
  • Exhibiting accountability, professional integrity, and respect consistent with Communities Values, the Code of Conduct, and the public sector Code of Ethics
