As the Senior Credit Officer you will be responsible for effectively collecting outstanding debt from major/corporate customers to ensure the reduction of a number of outstanding accounts and aged debts. You will report directly to the Credit Manager and your duties will include however not be limited to:
- Collect outstanding debt from major and corporate customers
- Maintain records of outstanding debts and make arrangements to follow up
- Reconcile overdue debts and organise debt collection/recovery
- Determine suitable resolutions for outstanding accounts
- Data entry of Customer Master and other relevant records
- Reconcile Major/Corporate accounts using intermediate Excel (Vlook up and Pivot tables)
- In conjunction with the Credit Manager undertake reviews of high-risk debtors ensuring existing limits and trading terms are appropriate
- Investigate the credit worthiness of potential customers
- Deal with customer enquiries on accounts
- Processing direct debits, credit card & cheque banking
- Preparing Refund journals
- Report the status disputes to the Credit Manager
- Recommend process improvement
- Run monthly customer statements
- Referring debts to third party collection agencies when necessary
- Proven ability to reduce DSO's and manage your own ledger
- Self-motivated with a strong work ethic
