  • Senior credit decisioner role entrusted to independently manage a broad Health & Corporate Credit Portfolio
  • Responsibility includes provision of Credit risk support, due diligence and approval of Acquisition Finance transactions within your portfolio.

How will I help?
Report to the Head of Financial Institutions, Public Sector and Health Credit (FIPSH Credit) and provide proactive risk management of a portfolio of Institutional Health-related clients, and when required, other corporate clients. Lead the underwriting and credit approval process for client requests under your responsibility, including acquisition finance related transactions.
You will be a key member of the wider FIPSH Credit team responsible for the Financial Institution, Securitisation and Public sector client portfolios. The team also supports Financial Markets and Treasury business teams in the approval and management of Credit Risk arising from trading and markets activities.
Your responsibilities will include:
  • Collaborate with 1st line stakeholders to understand deal structures, threshold risks and mitigation strategies.
  • Demonstrate prudent and clear judgment in the assessment and management of the Credit Risks within the business, including the early recognition of problem loans and implementation of remediation plans.
  • Adopt a continuous improvement policy to build the Westpac brand leadership in the market.
  • Contribute to the strategic positioning of WIB to ensure that credit strategies and policies are appropriately aligned with business units' objectives.
  • Contribute to the development of a robust credit culture within the business.

What do I need?
You will have at least 7 years' experience in a credit related analytical role with previous delegated authority to approve Credit Risk (essential) and experience in the health-related sectors (including aged care) and acquisition finance transactions. While not essential, demonstrated experience in credit analysis of Financial Institutions , Structured finance (Securitization) and/or Financial Markets would be viewed positively. In addition to your technical capabilities, you will have the ability to problem solve and make commercial and risk decisions in high pressure environments. With ability to develop trusted relationships you will exhibit a collaborative growth mindset. Practical knowledge of legal documentation would be highly regarded.
