About the role..
The role is responsible for supporting the Group Head of Credit in ensuring that all Credit Risk systems, processes, and procedures are created, maintained, continuously reviewed, and optimised. In addition there will be the provision of day-to-day support to both the Group Head of Credit and Commercial Credit Analysts and collaborating cross-functionally to maintain strong working relationships with peers in Risk, Audit, Finance, Treasury and Sales.
Key Accountabilities..
- Provide leadership and direction to direct reports whilst ensuring high quality credit decisioning output, thereby preventing SG Fleet from Credit Losses
- Lead, develop, mentor, and coach direct reports and identifying opportunities of knowledge growth when and where required whilst undertaking Credit Assurance Reviews on their credit analysis and recommendations
- Set and monitor Key Performance Indicators ("KPI's), track performance metrics, and conduct analysis to drive continuous improvement and achieve organisational goals
- Develop and provide periodic reporting on Corporate Credit to the relevant Risk Committees
- Obtain and maintain an expert knowledge of the Commercial Credit Assessment and Customer Due Diligence Screening tools
- Recommend Corporate Credit Policy and procedure updates whilst ensuring all credit applications are assessed in line with Group Credit Policies and procedures and per Delegated Authority
- Actively champion exemplary customer service internally and externally whilst monitoring the end-to-end management of customer experience from credit application to credit decisioning
Skills and Experience..
- Previous experience working in a Credit Management role (or similar), ideally in a complex multi-national organisation
- Extensive experience leading, motivating, and coaching a Commercial Credit Team
- Previous Delegated Authority for credit approvals
- Strong skills reading and analysing independently corporate financial statements and preparing associated risk assessments
- A sound understanding and demonstrated experience with credit frameworks and policies
- Excellent communication (written/verbal) and stakeholder management skills
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- High level of attention to detail, with experience in data manipulation and visualisation tools (e.g., Power BI)
- Tertiary qualified in either banking, finance, business, commerce, or accounting
