This government organisation is looking for a Senior Cyber Security Specialist to join their Cyber Security team on a 2-year fixed-term contract. You will have the opportunity of working for a government organisation located in Southerland.
Your new role
As a Senior Technical Cyber Security Specialist, you’ll be expected to drive the implementation and continual improvement of the Cyber Security function for the organisation. You’ll work closely with stakeholders to ensure that Cyber Security initiatives meet objectives across their organisation in alignment with their Cyber Security strategy.
You’ll also be responsible for:
- Implementation and maintenance of security controls including the ASD Essential 8
- Executing the Cyber Incident response process from a technical perspective
- Proactive identification, analysis and remediation of cyber risks
- Conducting Cyber Security related assessments including project/solution reviews
- Ongoing development of internal technical Cyber Security policies and standards
What you'll need to succeed
As a Senior Security Specialist, you will be required to possess the following skills and experience:
- Extensive IT technical/operational background in a Windows-based environment
- Previously worked in a Cyber Security Specialist or similar role
- Hands-on experience analysing logs, network data and other attack artefacts
- Experience with vulnerability scanning solutions
- Proficiency with antivirus, identity management and security software
