The National Offshore Petroleum Safety and Environmental Management Authority (NOPSEMA) is Australia's independent expert regulator for health and safety, structural integrity, well integrity and environmental management for all offshore energy operations and greenhouse gas storage activities in Commonwealth waters, and in coastal waters where regulatory powers and functions have been conferred.
NOPSEMA also administers the functions of the Offshore Infrastructure Regulator (OIR), for the offshore renewables industry. This includes the regulation of work health and safety, infrastructure integrity, and environmental management for offshore renewable energy infrastructure activities.

We are seeking an experienced Senior Data Analyst to join the Strategic Regulation and Improvement Division in our Perth Office.
Role:
Reporting to the Assistant Director - Analytics and Reporting, in this role, you will assist in design and maintenance of data visualisation and dashboards, contribute data and information improvement projects and support with the establishment and implementation of data strategy, data management and data governance.
Key Responsibilities:
As a skilled Data Analyst, you will design, develop and deliver reports, dashboards and analysis products to inform strategic regulatory planning and support risk-based operational decisions. You will provide expertise and technical knowledge in the analysis of NOPSEMA’s data assets.
You will apply contemporary analytics software to identify trends and insights, develop impactful data visualisations, and also provide guidance and training for research analysts and end users.
The successful applicant will ensure availability, quality and reliability of NOPSEMA’s data outputs and develop and apply policy and procedure as required, assisting in the maintenance of relevant quality process documentation.
We would like to hear from you if:
You have a relevant tertiary qualification and demonstrated experience as a “Power User” of common data management and presentation/query tools such as Microsoft Excel and Power BI.
You can work accurately and methodically with complex data models and schedule work to meet priorities and deadlines. You have extensive knowledge of SQL and associated tools.
You can work autonomously and manage projects within a flexible, team environment.
