You are expected to deliver hands-on analysis, development, and implement business data solutions through modifications of existing business intelligence solutions and core operational frameworks to drive business growth and gain operational efficiencies. You also need to lead the team developing and implementing solutions on data modelling, visualisations, data warehousing, and shaping the data warehouse infrastructure, reporting and analytics to improve data transparency and accuracy, reduce data processing time, facilitate delivery of business requirements and impacts through data insights.The position would suit either a qualified Data Analyst who has worked in an Investment Operations function, or an experienced analyst with financial industry knowledge and strong data analytical and coding skills.Some of the role's key duties include:
- Support users of the databank to efficiently increase investment-data transparency and enable effective portfolio management & reporting including portfolio transparency, governance architecture, management framework, innovation and research & development.
- Oversee and manage the investment databank, transform and store data into a usable format for data usage to Investment Team and other stakeholders processes in accordance with required timeframes.
- Develop business solutions, identify, interpret and analyse datasets in the investment data bank, and produce reports, visualisations and data insights to answer complex business problems that are presented in the most appropriate format to ensure clarity for target audience.
- Take a leading role in the end-to-end projects and proactively align continuous improvements across processes to achieve strategic outcome.
- Monitor and implement regulatory requirements, policies and queries to ensure robust compliance across processes and data platform.
- Analytical support, implementation and maintenance of R&D projects across teams' processes, investment data management solution framework and key metrics for innovation and improvements.
- Ongoing monitoring and reporting of key metrics including risk control framework across teams' operational processes.
- Project support for the implementation and maintenance of the investment data management solution framework and key metrics.
- Tertiary qualification in Accounting / Finance (required) and industry or post graduate qualifications in Accounting or Finance (desirable).
- Advanced knowledge of data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
- Advanced SQL and intermediate Python.
- Strong domain knowledge in database management.
- An understanding of the key challenges in investment data.
- Advanced excel skills.
- Over 10 years' experience in the financial services industry.
- Proven track record in managing people and growing them.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to work to deadlines.
- Strong analytical ability and judgement, with attention to detail and keen interest to learn.
- Strong communication and presentation skills (written and verbal).
- Ability to drive work from conception through to completion autonomously and effectively.
- Competence in modelling and manipulating numbers and data, with very high accuracy and attention to detail.
