An exciting opportunity exists for a Senior Design Engineer (Civil) to join our Engineering Design team within the Infrastructure Department at the City of Kingston. The Engineering Design Team is at the center of infrastructure projects in the City of Kingston. The award-winning team is responsible for coordinating the design, project management, and delivery of a broad range of infrastructure projects. This includes road upgrades, traffic treatments, and flood mitigation projects. The team also supports open space, foreshore, and community projects, with a focus on positive environmental outcomes, ensuring a diverse and exciting project portfolio.
The role
We are seeking a motivated and energetic civil engineer to join the Engineering Design team in the role of Senior Design Engineer. Reporting to the Coordinator Major Designs, your role is to:
- Provide specialist design, investigation, and project management services to facilitate the delivery of infrastructure projects as part of the capital works program.
- Provide expert advice and solutions for infrastructure-related matters within the municipality.
This role will see you working on a range of projects and provides a unique opportunity to collaborate with professionals across the organisation to meet the needs of the community.
About you
We are looking for someone with:
- Demonstrated design and project management experience along with a solid understanding of municipal road design, drainage design, and construction principles.
- Excellent communication skills, high productivity, and ability to effectively liaise with other teams to ensure successful outcomes
- Registration, or eligibility to register, as a Professional Engineer (Civil) with the Victorian Business Licensing Authority (BLA). (Note: Under the Professional Engineering Registration Act 2019 it is a requirement for a professional engineer who carries out or is responsible for the carrying out of professional engineering services, to be registered with the Victorian BLA by 1 October 2022).
