About Your Role and Impact
As a key member of the FGA Engineering Design team, you will work with the broader FGA team and partners, operating to the highest standards of professionalism, quality and timeliness in making a difference for our clients, people and our communities. Your role will include the responsibility to:
- Collaborate and support the wider FGA team in the design and delivery of transformative zero-carbon projects
- Engage and collaborate with clients and stakeholders, applying active listening and critical thinking to clarify project needs, risks, opportunities, and expectations, providing guidance and insights for the client through the optioneering and solutioning stages.
- Effectively communicate context, make clear and compelling recommendations, and provide logical supporting evidence to substantiate advice in the preparation of professional consultancy reports and presentations for technical and non-technical audiences.
- Contribute to the strengthening of client relationships and support in business development.
- Lead delivery of high-quality outcomes across multiple projects as part of multi-disciplinary teams, being able to plan and execute on competing priorities.
- Lead and support 100% electrification projects to allow renewably sourced energy for the future of building services Engineering Design (including power, communications, security, lighting, and AV) and assume technical quality assurance accountability across the full spectrum of the project lifecycle, including business case planning, design, documentation, cost planning, procurement, works implementation and post-completion quality assurance.
- Develop project reports and structured communication plans for projects.
- Perform engineering calculations and modelling computations for electrical designs.
- Support the design team in project development and oversee junior staff in the development of technical documentation.
About Your Qualifications and Experience
Essential:
- Recognised Tertiary Qualification: Degree in Engineering (Electrical).
- Local industry experience (7+ years) in electrical building services engineering consultancy.
- Experience working as part of multi-disciplinary teams in a client-facing discipline lead role.
- Design engineering experience in building services (minimum 7+ years in Australia).
- Strong proficiency in Electrical building services engineering
- Excellent communication skills, written and oral.
- Registered Building Practitioner certification in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
- Experience in the preparation of professional consultancy reports and making client presentations.
- Advanced engineering computations knowledge, analytical skills and critical thinking.
- Initiative and passion for getting it done right.
- Personal desire for climate action.

We highly regard:
- HV Design Experience
- Chartered Professional Engineer accreditation.
- Construction admin and contract management experience from a consultant perspective.
- Additional education degree (Dual Degree, Masters Degree, or MBA).
- AutoCAD skills
