Senior Desktop Soe Engineer

Cleared are currently working with Defence & are looking to speak to a NV1 Senior Desktop SOE Engineer based in Canberra for a 6-month contract plus a 1 x 12-month extension option with the successful candidate required to start February!

This is a major Defence project!

Canberra Based Offices must be Onsite.

Project and Services

The Essential 8 Maturity Level 1 (E8ML1) project will focus on the ACSC Essential 8 Mitigation Strategies and applicable Information Security Manual (ISM) controls to achieve the required Maturity Level by 30 June 2024.

The E8ML1 project methodology seeks to provide assurance and uplift to existing ICT infrastructure (where required) using established patterns and approved technology solutions. Impacted teams will use a combination of in-house ICT resources and vendor partners to complete work packages.

The resources will work alongside the current ICT cohort within the Agency, to complement the APS capability.

• Windows Server, Windows Desktop, Applications Packager.

Key Tasks/Duties/Requirements - Senior Desktop SOE Engineer:

• Experience Packaging and deploying desktop applications via SCCM and Intune.
• Strong technical knowledge of Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager including SCCM and Intune.
• Strong technical knowledge of Active Directory - Group Policy Management, RBAC, AppLocker, WDAC.
• Strong Scripting ability (PowerShell, VBScript).
• Experience with facilitating large and enterprise scale software deployments.
• Maintenance, upgrades, and enhancements of environment wide configurations including user policies, device policies, security policies and automation scripts through enterprise grade endpoint management platforms (SCCM, Intune).
• Perform upgrades on applicable hardware and operating systems as required/requested.
• Minimum of 3+ years' experience in SOE migrations, projects, and implementation.
• Experience in VPN technologies and Active Directory - Group Policy Management, RBAC, M365 Security Products (Microsoft Defender).
• Fluent in Intune, configuration manager, autopilot and windows image deployment, windows for business.

Mandatory Criteria

• Minimum three plus years' experience administering Microsoft related technologies in large complex organizations.

Weighted Criteria

• Minimum three plus years' experience as a Windows Desktop SOE Engineer in enterprise environments.
• Enterprise knowledge of packaging and deploying desktop applications via SCCM and Intune, Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager, Active Directory, Group Policy Management, RBAC, AppLocker, WDAC, Autopilot.

Negative Vetting 1 (NV1) is required.
