Your New Role
Sekisui House’s residential communities and home building brand is SHAWOOD.
SHAWOOD was established, in Japan, in 1995 and brought to Australia in 2012, having built over 750 homes in Australia that time. SHAWOOD has a number of developments ongoing and to be launched soon, that this role will work across.
We are seeking a motivated and ambitious Senior Development Manager to join the SHAWOOD team, responsible for the development for our premium home building and master-plan community projects. Your responsibilities will include:
- Ensure the required profitability levels are achieved through effective management, including periodic budget review, risk assessment, cash-flow management, and delivery optimisation.
- Ensure projects are scoped, designed, approved, constructed and delivered on time, budget and to agreed quality.
- Ensure project financials are accurately and routinely updated in accordance with company financial reporting requirements.
- Proactively identify project risks and formulate mitigating strategies to ensure required business outcomes are achieved.
- Contribute to the brand development of Sekisui House Australia.
Stakeholder Management:
- Directly manage relationships with stakeholder groups (i.e. contractors, approval authorities, communities) to achieve the required business outcomes.
- Contribute to the development of the project team’s capability by nurturing and retaining talent and creating a diverse and supportive environment where individuals excel.
- Ensure effective collaboration with other areas of the business, both within the Development & Communities Business Unit and more broadly within Sekisui House.
About You
- Experience undertaking end-to-end development for the life cycle of master plan communities and medium density residential housing projects
- Minimum 8 years development experience
- Experience working with Built Form is highly regarded (not essential)
- Experience in the remediation of sites and sub divisions for master plan communities
- Experience in the approval and delivery of lead in utilities
- Passionate about delivering urban, landscape and built form projects of the highest quality
- Ability to work autonomously and effectively as part of team
- Passionate about providing support to and mentoring junior team members
- Strong written and verbal communication, influencing and leadership skills
