Overview
The Dietitian (AHP2) – Food Services, applies clinical experience, increasingly generalist and/or specialist clinical knowledge and professional competence to plan, implement and evaluate a comprehensive and integrated range of services, appropriate to the needs of the local community. The Dietitian – Food Services works under reduced clinical direction and may contribute to the clinical supervision of less experienced allied health professionals, allied health assistants and students. As a member of a multi-professional team, including health professionals and service providers from other sectors, the Dietitian – Food Services utilizes a combination of preventative, early intervention, treatment/therapy and evaluation approaches.
The Senior Dietitian (AHP3) – Food Services is accountable to the Professional Lead Allied health within Riverland Mallee Coorong Local Health Network (RMLCHN) for ensuring the nutritional adequacy of all menus provided which results in improved patient care and outcomes. This includes developing and implementing nutrition policies, procedures and training programs as well as maintaining appropriate information management systems including nutrient analysis. The Senior Dietitian, Food Services is to implement nutrition reviews and quality audits in the Department’s quality assurance program.
Must hold a recognised qualification within the Nutrition and Dietetics profession and be eligible for full membership of the Dietitians Association of Australia. It is desired that the individual will participate in the Dietitians Association of Australia Accredited Practicing Dietitian Program (APD).
