What you'll be doing
This position is part of the Dietetics Department, Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District (NBMLHD) and Nepean Cancer Care Centre (NCCC), located onsite at Nepean Hospital. The position provides high-level clinical nutrition services to clients of Nepean Hospital and NCCC (inpatients and outpatients) with cancer and supports all Dietitians providing services to patients with cancer across NBMLHD. This position leads quality improvement, service development, practice and redesign activities. This role also provides clinical supervision of level 1-2 and level 3 dieticians, and provides a consultancy service in nutritional care of clients with cancer and haematological disorders across NSW.
The Oncology Dietician Level 4 will be responsible for

• High quality, evidence based clinical nutritional care with cancer.
• High level clinical expertise and knowledge in oncology nutritional management.
• Act as a consultant to all staff across NBMLHD and NSW in oncology nutritional management.
• Work in a multidisciplinary team with regards to management of clients with cancer.
• Monitors, reviews and develops relevant clinical nutrition policies and protocols.
• Uses advanced reasoning skill and independent professional judgement in solving problems and managing clinical areas.
• Operates autonomously with minimal direction.
• Initiates and leads the planning, implementation and evaluation of oncology Dietetic services across NMBLHD.
• Assists in co-ordination of Dietetic student placements and supervision.

This position is for 3 days per week (22 hours). The successful applicant will need to be available Wed to Friday secondary to service needs

Acceptable proof of vaccination is the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement or AIR COVID-19 Digital Certificate. Booster doses are highly recommended for all health care workers who have completed the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations.
Employment of a temporary visa holder may only occur if no suitable permanent resident or citizen of Australia has been identified and must not exceed the duration or conditions associated with the current visa.
Selection criteria to be addressed: * Tertiary qualifications in Nutrition and Dietetics and eligible for full membership of the Dietitians’ Association of Australia.

• Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and to perform novel and complex tasks.
• Extensive experience and up-to-date knowledge in the nutritional management of patients with cancer, including experience in oncology and haematology multidisciplinary teams, and in managing inpatient and outpatient oncology/hematology caseloads.
• Demonstrated high level interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills. With well-developed skills in clinical supervision and student teaching and training.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and complete quality improvement and service evaluation processes related to nutritional services for oncology clients.
• Demonstrated ability to contribute to service management via review of service provision and/or redesign to improve nutritional services, operations and outcomes.
• Current Driver's Licence and willingness to use for work purpose travel.
