The Senior Clinical Dietitian Team Leader is a key member of the Nutrition Services Clinical Leadership and Management Team. This position provides leadership to ensure the provision of a high standard of clinical nutrition service at Royal North Shore Hospital.
Positions within RNSH Nutrition Services are appointed on the relevant grading, not to a specified clinical area. Clinical area allocation is based upon departmental need.
What you'll be doing
The position is required to be part of the face to face 7-day Clinical Dietitian service inclusive of weekends and public holidays as rostered with working hours of 0830-1700. The weekday hours of work are 0800-1630 or 0830-1700, as well as participation in the 'late shift' roster with hours of 0830-1700 to support departmental technical staff.
The Senior Clinical Dietitian Team Leader is a key member of the Nutrition Services Clinical Leadership and Management Team. This position provides leadership to ensure the provision of a high standard of clinical nutrition service at Royal North Shore Hospital. This includes the planning, monitoring and evaluation of services, clinical supervision and support of staff, development and implementation of innovative service models and initiatives. The position is a clinical specialist in one or more key clinical areas for RNSH and is responsible for ensuring that all consumers requiring clinical nutrition intervention are provided with the best possible quality of assessment and care based on established professional standards and best practice.
People of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander background encouraged to apply.Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:
- Bachelor or post graduate degree in nutrition and dietetics and eligibility for full membership of the Dietitians Association of Australia. Recent, extensive and varied post graduate clinical experience as a level 2 Dietitian or above.
- Extensive experience in tailoring verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills for internal and external service providers. Demonstrated proficient computer literacy and ability to confidently use health information systems.
- Demonstrated experience in, leading, initiating, mentoring, completing and presenting quality improvement activities, research and service evaluation process. Extensive experience in clinical teaching and supervision for students and allied health staff.
- Extended skills and specialised knowledge in the provision of current clinical dietetic practice. Ability to take responsibility for the delivery of evidence-based practice for consumers, carers and families.
