Senior Diabetes Dietitian – Young Adult Clinic

The Mona Vale Hospital Nutrition and Dietetics Department is seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic dietitian with extensive experience and knowledge in the area of diabetes. The dietitian will be working closely with the Diabetes Multidisciplinary Team including endocrinologists and diabetes educators to provide a dietitian service to the Young Adult Clinic. The Young Adult Clinic provides youth appropriate self-management education to Young Adults, aged 16 – 25 years.

Where you'll be working
The Senior Diabetes Dietitian will work predominately at the Mona Vale Community Health Centre and may also work at Brookvale Community Health Centre and other clinical areas at Mona Vale Hospital as required.

The Senior Diabetes Dietitian, as part of the Multidisciplinary Diabetes Team, will provide a high quality and evidence based dietetic service to patients attending the Young Adult Clinic. The role will also include working with the NSLHD Diabetes Team on quality improvement projects, review and development of resources and evaluation of service provision.

1. Bachelor or post graduate degree in nutrition and dietetics that provides eligibility for full membership of the Dietitians Association of Australia. Evidence of extensive clinical experience with a minimum as a Level 2 Dietitian.
2. Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and to apply advanced reasoning skills and independent professional judgement when dealing with situations of a novel, complex or critical nature.
3. Ability to initiate, lead, complete and share quality improvement initiatives and service evaluation processes and lead ongoing quality improvement activities with other staff
