About the roleDigital Forensics Officer - APS 6 We are seeking motivated, service-driven professionals to join our Cyber Operations, Program and Strategy branch.
As a Digital Forensics Officer, you’ll provide specialist digital forensic and electronic evidence collection and analysis services including advice, guidance, support and training. This will involve preparing reports for presentation to clients, senior executives and in judicial or administrative proceedings.
Your expertise and understanding of the relevant legislative, regulatory and compliance frameworks will enable you to provide detailed advice in relation to complex digital forensic problems. You’ll conduct advanced research and development work relating to electronic investigation methodologies, tools and legislative requirements. You’ll help build capability and mentor less experienced staff.
You will undertake a range of activities and will engage with highly sensitive, confidential, inappropriate or explicit material and images. You'll be required to attend court to give evidence.
We will support your continual learning and development to help you grow your career in Digital Forensics. You'll attend conferences and external events to broaden your networks and experience.
You will be required to attend field work at different locations across the country to assist in ATO investigations. This will require you to travel interstate, work overtime and potentially include overnight stay when travelling. In addition, you'll be required to work outside of the ordinary hours of duty on an ad hoc basis and attend regular mandatory counselling sessions as required.
These roles may be offered on an ongoing or non-ongoing basis in Brisbane CBD, Melbourne CBD or Sydney CBD.
