Senior Drafter / Detail Designer

Exciting role for Systems Engineer in Defence Maritime space.

We are looking for a talented and motivated Senior Drafter to join our international Detailed Design team. You will be part of a dynamic and collaborative team that delivers high quality production outputs from our integrated digital engineering tool sets (e.g., AutoCAD, FORAN, Windchill), in the Maritime Sector.

You will be working on one of the largest and most complex naval shipbuilding projects in Australia's history.

As a draftsperson, you will be responsible for:

• Producing shop detail drawings relevant to your discipline, e.g., steel fabrication & erection; outfit installation or general arrangements; cable containment installation & arrangements; pipe manufacturing & installation
• Ensuring compliance with relevant standards, specifications, and procedures
• Conducting quality checks and providing feedback on other outputs
• Collaborating with other drafters, engineers, and stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate delivery of outputs
• Supporting continuous improvement initiatives and contributing to best practices

To be successful in this role, you will need:

• To hold a current security clearance, of at least Baseline
• Diploma of Engineering (Technical) or equivalent industry experience
• Experience in 2D & 3D CAD using AutoCAD or similar packages (SOLIDWORKS, Inventor, PTC Creo, Siemens NX, REVIT, etc.)
• Experience working as a draftsperson or steel detailer within the maritime, oil & gas, infrastructure or building services industries
• Experience in a detail design quality review processes (e.g., conducting quality checks and providing feedback on other outputs)
• Well-developed communication and stakeholder engagement skills
• Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Excel
