About the opportunity

The Education, Enterprise and Engagement (EEE) team at the University of Sydney serves as a centralised hub for student enquiries and support services, offering guidance on academic matters, student life, and administrative queries. They have an opportunity for a Senior Educational Design Officerto join their team in support of the NPILF pilot program.

As a Senior Educational Design Officer, you will collaborate with academic, teaching staff, and industry partners to develop innovative experiential and work-integrated learning experiences. You will support implementing Education Design principles to enhance student learning outcomes, creating and testing aligned educational resources.

Reporting to the Manager Engaged and Work Integrated Learning, your key responsibilities will be to:

  • support academic staff with innovative curriculum design and technical assistance in the context of employability and work integrated learning units of study
  • provide technical expertise for educational resource creation, enhancing learning
  • offer advice on educational approaches that enable industry engagement for learning and student success
  • deliver operational support, ensuring policy compliance and project success
  • develop tools aligned with teaching needs, enhancing engagement and quality for experiential and work integrated learning
  • guide educational approaches, activities, and assessments with an emphasis on industry engaged activities and employability.

About you

Are you a skilled work integrated learning (WIL) focused educational designer looking to make a significant impact on the student experience? Join EEE at the University of Sydney to collaborate on innovative learning experiences and drive enhancements in student engagement and success through innovation in WIL curriculum.

  • tertiary qualifications in education, coupled with relevant working experience
  • experience in learning design and curriculum development across a range of WIL program delivery modes
  • working experience with online educational platforms and learning management systems in enabling student engagement in WIL
  • excellent time and workload management skills, with the ability to prioritise effectively
  • possess knowledge of University policies and procedures in a tertiary environment
  • demonstrate the ability to work independently and collaboratively, taking initiative and exercising sound judgment
  • excellent student, staff and industry stakeholder engagement to achieve shared goals in WIL design, delivery and evaluation.

Australian Temporary Residents currently employed at the University of Sydney may be considered for a fixed term contract for the length of their visa, depending on the requirements of the hiring area and the reasons for the position.
