Supporting the Project Manager in conducting electrical engineering research, designing, planning, and operating security systems, including CCTV and door access control. Testing and troubleshooting electrical equipment, facilities, system distribution, and integrating security networks.
Job Description and Duties
1. Assisting Project manager in overseeing program management , supervision and mentoring of junior technicians and apprentices.
2. Assisting project manager in design and layout of security system installations, carrying out scoping works, requirements gathering, performing tests and calculations, and creating security diagrams, graphs and charts, blueprints, and schematics for the installation of security systems.
3. Conducting inspections at installation sites, reviewing work orders, building plans, and installation manuals to ensure adherence to material requirements and installation procedures.
4. Performing the installation, testing, commissioning, programming, and maintenance of a diverse range of alarm/security systems, CCTV systems, Intercom Systems, Access control, and integrated systems, including Tecom Challenger Systems, Integriti, Bosch, and Tecom C4. Troubleshooting, diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, and network issues encountered by end-users,
5. Conducting performance tests and load balancing exercises on the finished security system to comply with specifications, regulations and safety requirement and analysing the reports for recommendation and preparing reports.
6. Delivering excellent customer service and engaging with key customers on technical and service-related matters. Collaborating closely with the team to respond to service calls promptly as they arise.
7. Estimating materials costs and quantities required for the implementation and maintenance of security systems, including CCTV, door access control, electronic gates, and alarms, to provide quotations to customers and ensure cost-effectiveness and operational efficiency.
8. Actively participate in security workshop training, team training, and safety meetings to remain current with industry knowledge and technological advancements.
9. Fulfilling any other assigned duties related to the operation and integration of security systems.
10. Effectively collaborating in a team and assisting other technicians.
Skills and Knowledge Required for the Position
1. An associate degree or diploma certificate in electrical technology or comparable formal training with at least three years of working experience in the field to substitute;
2. Experience working as a security Engineering Technician or similar role.
3. Knowledge of security engineering principles and techniques. Strong theory and practical skills in researching, planning, assembling, testing, and troubleshooting for security system and network operation, system maintenance, and upgrade.
4. Proficiency in security engineering equipment and facilities, software & hardware and network configuration. Familiar with various CCTV analogue and IP Systems, Milestone, Digifort, Hikvision, Dahua, Samsung, Pelco, Axis and experience with IP Video and Intercom systems.
5. Technical experience for Tecom, Integriti, Inception, Concept, SALTO Access Control Systems, Hills Reliance, Paradox and Bosch alarm Panels.
6. Knowledge of work safety and environment regulations and standards;
7. Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
8. Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
