The Role

We are currently recruiting for a part-time or full-time Senior Employee Services Adviser to assist with the operation of HIA’s Human Resource function. This role has a strong internal customer service focus, with the responsibility for delivery of strategic people agenda project priorities, and providing operational support across a range of HR related areas.

Key responsibilities for this role include:

  • Delivery of people and culture projects from concept to completion (as supported by General Manager- Employee Services);
  • Assisting with change management associated with new initiatives, and monitoring activities for continuous improvement;
  • Ensure employees are provided with a thorough and relevant onboarding and induction process, lead the annualised salary review process, and support the promotion and delivery of HR initiatives including wellbeing, culture, and learning and development;
  • Assist the General Manager- Employee Services with production of HR metrics for reporting purposes around programs of work e.g. WGEA, Salary Banding etc; and
  • Supporting the delivery of operational activities including management of workers compensation claims, monthly HR activities, Recruitment and Selection, Exit Interviews, and maintaining HRIS systems.

The ideal applicant will have the qualities of:

  • Substantial Human Resources related experience, ideally in HR project delivery, and change management.
  • An understanding of industrial relations and employment conditions.
  • Experience in a HRIS applications, preferably Aurion, GO1, Martian Logic.
  • Proficient in MS Office including strong experience with managing data and undertaking analysis in MS Excel.
  • Well-developed written communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
  • A strong customer service focus, with confidence to converse with all staff and levels of management.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to demonstrate patience, respect and empathy.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, and deliver outcomes in a busy operational environment.
  • Capacity to remain composed under pressure.
  • Ability to adapt and apply a flexible approach.
