Tweed Shire Council is seeking an engineer with a passion for public health and the environment to lead our Water and Wastewater Capital Works team. This senior role oversees the efficient and timely delivery of our Water and Wastewater Capital Works Program, managing both internal and external service providers, and directly supervising the preconstruction phases, encompassing detailed design and environmental planning approvals for projects in the Water and Wastewater sector
About the role:- Lead a team of approximately six professional engineers
- Overseeing an annual Capital Works program budget exceeding $30 million and managing ongoing works valued at over $100 million
- Manages Water and Wastewater infrastructure projects throughout their entire lifecycle
- Provides expert advice, resolves complex issues, and serves as the primary reference point for clients regarding Council policy and best practices in W&WW design and project management.
- Leading and motivating a team to ensure the successful delivery of our water and wastewater Capital Works program
- Diversity of work across the portfolio of water and wastewater infrastructure Capital Works projects
- a base salary from $125,530 to $132,513 per annum. After a minimum of 6 months service, performance-based increases may be applied for on an annual basis, with increments up to $139,486, plus 11% superannuation

- A dedicated team leader with a passion for delivering water and wastewater services to our community and the environment
- Sound knowledge of planning, design, procurement, and operation/maintenance requirements for Water and Wastewater infrastructure
- Extensive working knowledge in Project and Program Management, specifically in delivery of major water and sewerage infrastructure projects
- Ability and willingness to staying informed on water and wastewater strategies, contributing to policy development
- Comprehensive understanding of managing contracts, budgets, estimating and the preparation of reports
- Bachelor of Engineering Degree, eligible for NPER and Membership of Institute of Engineers Australia, and experience in Local Government Engineering including Water and Wastewater.
- Located on the picturesque far North Coast of NSW, bordering the Gold Coast.
