MMG Dugald River:

Dugald River is one of the world’s top 10 Zinc mine operations, which has been producing zinc concentrate for customers around the world since 2017.The mine is committed to a low-carbon future. In April 2023 the Dugald River Solar Farm began operations, supplying a third of the mine’s power, and reducing emissions by 33% and this is just the start of its renewable energy transition.

Dugald River employs around 750 employees and contractors on a mix of fly-in, fly-out and local residential basis. The village provides all the amenities including a gym, with a women’s only area, a tennis court, swimming pool, walking track and entertainment area.

Senior Engineer Mechanical – Projects

Reporting to the Superintendent - Projects, this role is responsible to provide technical expertise to key stakeholders on site to ensure design and recommendations are compliant with relevant site specifications and Australian Standards.

This role will be based on an 8/6 roster. This role is available on a drive-in drive out basis (DIDO) from the Cloncurry or Mount Isa Districts. Relocation support will be available for successful candidates who reside outside of the local region who wish to relocate to the Cloncurry or Mount Isa districts. FIFO from Brisbane is also available.

Qualifications & Competencies

• Tertiary Engineering qualifications in an appropriate discipline from a recognised institution;
• Minimum of Five years’ experience in an Engineering role managing project works;
• Mining and mineral processing experience preferable.

Responsibilities include:

• Adherence at all times to the MMG Code of Conduct. The code provides standards for appropriate ethical and professional behaviour. It is based on MMG’s values of Safety, Integrity, Action and Results which form the basis of, and underpin all of MMG’s business relationships
• Implementation of assigned projects within the requirements and expectation of the project superintendent. 
• Identifying key stakeholders and providing necessary updates
• Defining project objectives, stakeholder requirements and project interfaces.
• Facilitating stakeholder requirement, option analysis and design review meetings.
• Developing project execution plans and facilitate construction risk assessment meetings
• Managing the Management of Modifications process and Governance. ( MOC)
• Providing technical expertise to key stakeholders. Ensure design and recommendations are compliant with relevant site specifications and Australian standards.
• Identification of CAPX and OPEX improvement opportunities
