About the role
We are seeking an experienced Shopify developer to lead the development and enhancement of our eCommerce platform. As part of our Digital team, you'll collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to craft outstanding user experiences and engage in technical, architectural, functional, and product collaboration discussions to solve complex technical problems.
To be successful in this role, you'll need extensive experience in software or website engineering with a proven commercial track record, particularly with Shopify Plus and Liquid.
You'll also need advanced skills in both front-end and backend development, including building Shopify Apps with AWS, REST APIs, and GraphQL, as well as proficiency in Agile practices and DevOps (CI/CD).
You will
- Lead the development and enhancement of the eCommerce platform
- Design and build complex frontend components
- Engage in creating and maintaining web applications via AWS Services to broaden Shopify functionality, exploring innovation and scalability
- Participate in technical, architectural, functional, and product collaboration discussions to solve complex business problems
- Develop custom backend applications and microservices to enhance the eCommerce platform outside of Shopify Liquid
- Oversee proprietary personalization and search functionalities, implementing custom features for an enhanced user journey
- Uphold the security, scalability, and maintainability of the codebase through the implementation of industry best practices
You have
- Extensive experience in software or website engineering with a proven commercial track record, particularly with Shopify Plus
- Seasoned expertise in front-end technologies (Liquid templating engine, React/Preact, CSS, Tailwind) with a focus on unit testing
- Advanced skills in backend development, including building Shopify Apps with AWS, REST APIs, and GraphQL
- Proven proficiency in developing custom Node.js backend applications and microservices, showcasing robust server-side scripting skills
- Strong understanding of progressive enhancement, responsive design, accessibility, and UX/UI best practices
- In-depth experience in web performance, accessibility, SEO practices, and comprehensive cross-browser/device testing, and automated testing methodologies
- Proficient in Agile practices, ticket management, along with expertise in DevOps (CI/CD).
