Job description:
Network Change is a Group within the Department of Transport and Planning, and is responsible for enabling DTP to effectively plan, deliver and maintain a safe, resilient and fit-for-purpose Victorian transport system through trusted, systematic and disciplined technical excellence.
About the Role
Reporting to the Team Leader Structural Assessment Class 1&3, the Senior Engineer - Structural, sits within Heavy Vehicle Operational Access and uses their structural engineering expertise and independent judgement to assess heavy vehicle applications.
The incumbent provides technical expertise and sound advice to support junior members of the team in relation to complex structural assessments.
The incumbent applies project management skills to coordinate the planning, work scheduling and resource management matters relating to the assessment of heavy vehicle applications and manages and lead continuous improvement projects, as required, that would result in efficiencies in relation to heavy vehicle assessment practices.
The incumbent builds strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders to ensure outcomes that safely maximise the utilisation of structure and meet the needs of the applicant and contributes to their discipline Community of Practice.

Mandatory Qualifications and Experience
- Tertiary qualification in Engineering and relevant workplace experience.
