Reporting to the Environmental Manager, key deliverables include
- Developing, maintaining, and supporting EDL’s Environmental Australian portfolio and ensuring compliance against regulatory and company requirements by providing critical experience in the environmental direction and advice to key stakeholders, mostly Operations Managers and Site Supervisors.
- Participating as a key member of design review of new projects.
- Collaborating with the Australian team in the maintenance of the environmental management system and ISO14001 certification.
- Ensure environmental plans are up to date and fit for purpose.
- Conduct regular audits and site visits.
- Submit annual returns to regulators in a timely manner.
- Drive environmental permits to ensure accuracy, monitoring and compliance.
- Ensure active participation in EDL’s H&S standards and behaviours.
Hold completed tertiary qualifications in Environmental Science or Environmental Engineering with experience in environmental management as a generalist Environmental Advisor. Your environmental audits skills, site inspections and developing environmental management plans and procedures will be well honed. Your communication style, both verbal and written, will be excellent, and you will be well-versed in preparing and submitting annual returns and proficient reports. Dealing with technical and legislative requirements and engaging with a broad stakeholder group in easy terms, along with being proactive and improvement/efficiencies focussed is highly regarded. Energy, renewables, or heavy industry experience is advantageous.
Brisbane based with travel to various sites for operational reviews, is monthly and well-planned.
