We are searching for a Senior Environmental Consultant to join our talented Assessment and Approvals team in Melbourne, to help deliver a growing and varied pipeline of exciting new and ongoing projects. The successful candidate will have opportunities to work on projects across various market sectors, including energy & renewables, resources, waste industries, and land development. Experience in planning and/or ecology will be highly regarded.
The opportunity
The role will involve managing and delivering assessment and approvals projects for our clients, including preparation of proposals, referral and approval documentation, complete internal reviews, schedule and budget management and subcontractor and client liaison. A key outcome of the role is the delivery of high-quality approval applications and technical reports to support environmental and planning approval requirements.
You will collaborate with our experienced and multi-disciplinary team at all levels of the company, with opportunities to enhance your professional network with our national team and clients. You will also regularly interact and work with State and Commonwealth regulatory agencies.
Strong knowledge and ability to interpret key State and Commonwealth environmental and approval legislation, government policy, standards and guidelines to deliver tailored approvals strategies and outcomes for major projects is a key part of the role.
About you
We’re looking for candidates who have:
- 8 years’ plus experience of environmental assessment and approvals work in Victoria with strong technical skills and working knowledge of relevant legislation, policy and guidance.
- A degree in Environmental Science, Planning, Natural Resource Management, Environmental Engineering or a related discipline.
- Proven ability to manage clients, projects and teams, ensuring that projects can be delivered on time, on budget and to a high standard.
- Excellent report writing and verbal communication skills with attention to detail.
- Experience in building and cultivating positive relationships with a range of stakeholders including colleagues, clients and regulatory agencies.
- A fun and positive outlook who enjoy collaborative working.
- Experience in planning and/or ecology will be highly regarded.
