AddressOur client is a leading environmental consultancy who specialise in remediation and contaminated land. They are looking for a Senior Environmental Scientist with a range of industry experience inclusive of contaminated land assessment and remediation.
Responsibilities:
This role will involve using your technical skills and knowledge on a wide variety of projects for both public and private sector clients including:
- Executing on-ground field works at contaminated sites involving the collection of soil, sediment, surface and groundwater samples and supervision of contractors.
- Project scoping, proposal writing and fieldwork preparation.
- Undertaking all works consistent with our safety values, systems and procedures.
- Evaluating and distilling field and analytical data.
- Preparing scientific and technical reports.
- Working as part of a broad team to help solve complex environmental issues.
- Laboratory investigations.
About you:
- Ability to manage & coordinate Junior Environmental Scientists between projects.
- Effective written and oral communication skills and the aptitude to confidently liaise with project teams, subcontractors and clients.
- Safety leadership in the field and commitment to adopting behavioural based safety programs.
- A passion for field-based project work including soil and groundwater sampling, contractor supervision and safety management.
Qualification & Experience:
- Degree qualified in Environmental Science/Engineering, Earth Science, Geology or equivalent.
- 5+ years’ experience in Environmental investigation and reporting.
- Minimum 5 years of related professional experience in Environmental Consulting
- In depth knowledge and application of EPA Environmental legislation guidelines.
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Work rights in Australia.
- A certified CEnvP (SC)- Desirable.
- Full drivers license
