Our client is a leading environmental consultancy specialising in geotechnics, environmental assessment and management of contaminated land with a busy pipeline of projects out of their Wollongong office. They are seeking a motivated and skilled Senior Environmental Scientist to join their team to manage projects related to the assessment and remediation of contaminated sites. As a key member of the team, you will play a critical role in leading and coordinating projects, ensuring their successful delivery within scope, budget, and timeline.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee all aspects of contaminated land projects, including planning, execution, and monitoring of site investigations, risk assessments, and remediation activities.
- Developing and maintaining relationships in the industry to ensure repeat business with valued customers.
- Conduct thorough environmental assessments and provide technical expertise in the identification and evaluation of environmental risks and impacts.
- Develop and implement effective project strategies to ensure compliance with environmental regulations and industry standards.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including engineers, geologists, and regulatory agencies, to design and implement innovative solutions for the management and remediation of contaminated sites.
- Prepare comprehensive technical reports, proposals, and presentations for clients and stakeholders, providing clear and concise recommendations based on scientific findings.
- Monitor project budgets, timelines, and resources to ensure efficient project delivery and client satisfaction.
- Stay current with industry trends, regulations, and best practices related to contaminated land management and remediation.
- Tertiary qualifications in Environmental Science or Engineering.
- Proven experience in managing contaminated land projects, preferably within an environmental consultancy or a related industry.
- In-depth knowledge of environmental regulations, policies, and guidelines related to contaminated land assessment and remediation.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex scientific data and technical reports.
- Excellent project management skills, including the ability to prioritize tasks, manage resources, and meet project deadlines.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with diverse teams, clients, and regulatory authorities.
