Diatreme Resources (ASX:DRX) is an emerging Australian producer of high purity, “low iron” silica sand currently focused on the development of its Northern Silica Project located at Cape Flattery in North QLD.

The Career Opportunity
Diatreme is seeking an Senior Environmental Technician to join our on-site team at a phase in the project where it is critical that environmental baseline studies continue so that the project can progress through the permit and approvals phase.
About The Role
The Senior Environmental Technician role will be a full time, 12-month fixed term contract, working an 8:6 roster, 12 hours a day, with the possibility to extend for the right candidate.
This role is available for an immediate start.
Role and Responsibilities
- Collect soil, water, and flora samples in various field settings in accordance with established procedures.
- Input and manage environmental data in ESdat.
- Assist EIS consultants in data collection, monitoring, and other field activities.
- Prepare and submit Chain of Custody (CoC) forms for all samples collected.
- Utilise GPS and other technology to record sample locations.
- Conduct basic field tests on samples and record observations.
- Maintain inventory and prepare orders for repair or replacement of sampling and monitoring equipment, and consumables.
- Ensure all activities comply with safety protocols and environmental regulations.
- Maintain and calibrate field equipment.
- Prepare field reports and contribute to data analysis.
- Liaise with laboratory staff for sample analysis.
- Assist field exploration programs when required.
- Conduct vegetation and revegetation assessments to facilitate the progression of exploration activities and compliance with Environmental Authorities.
- Provide supervision, oversight and training to other environmental team members as required.
- Ensure all individuals in the work area, including employees, contractors, and visitors, are informed, and adhering to Diatreme Resources’ Health and Safety Policy and practices.
- Foster a strong team environment, collaborating effectively with peers, contractors, and suppliers to promote healthy and safe work practices.
- Actively participate in and report on all safety matters, aiding in the development of safer working systems in accordance with Diatreme Resources’ health and safety policies and procedures.
- Deliver work outcomes in accordance with project objectives and time frames, contributing to exploration targets and project milestones.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science or related field is preferred.
- <25 kg Remote Pilot License (RePL) (or willing to obtain).
- Previous fieldwork experience in water collection.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to fill out forms and documentation accurately.
- Proficiency in the use of GPS and other field equipment.
- Must be physically fit and able to carry equipment and samples in varying terrains.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work well in a team and independently.
Additional Requirements
- C Class Manual Driver’s License with experience driving in offroad conditions.
- Successful applicants will be required to pass a full Pre-Employment Medical including Drug and Alcohol screening and obtain either a Blue Card, National Police Clearance, or similar.
